BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Bards & Brews, Birmingham Public Library's popular monthly spoken-word poetry program, will have a change of scenery (and new day and time!) in June, participating in the Birmingham Art Crawl. The Birmingham Art Crawl is scheduled for Thursday, June 7, 5-9 p.m., rain or shine, at 19th Street North and 2nd Avenue downtown.

Bards & Brews performances are scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. This will be an open air and open mic poetry event outside the McWane Plaza (right in front of the McWane Science Center). Brian "Voice Porter" Hawkins will serve as host. Food and beer will be available for purchase inside the Pizitz Food Hall.

As you check out the amazing visual artists of the Magic City, join us for an unforgettable night featuring many of Birmingham's best poets sharing their work against the backdrop of the city's evening lights. For more information visit Bards & Brews on Facebook and the BPL events calendar.
The Birmingham Art Crawl, held every first Thursday since June 2014, is a monthly art happening that brings people to the cultural and historical city center and showcases Birmingham’s deep and energetic pool of creative art talent. It’s a great way to meet local artists and performers, buy and appreciate their work, and be a part of the rapidly growing art scene in Birmingham.
