Summary
The Subject Resource Guide for Grants and Fundraising provides information available on the web and at the Birmingham Public Library that can be used to identify and locate financial support available for nonprofit organizations, businesses, and individuals. Grants, loans, and donations are the types of support highlighted in the Guide. The sources of the support include the federal government, private corporations, foundations, and crowdfunding websites. The Guide focuses on identifying support available for nonprofit programs and small business initiatives. Please note that information specific to student financial aid is not included in this Subject Resource Guide, but can instead be found in the Subject Resource Guide entitled "Financial Aid for Students". Please note also that more detailed information about starting and building a nonprofit can be found in the Subject Resource Guide entitled "Nonprofit Organizations".

The Grants and Fundraising Subject Resource Guide is divided into three sections. The first section, Foundation Funding Sources, has information about the grantmaking activities of charitable and philanthropic foundations. The Foundation Funding Sources section consists of two parts: Birmingham Public Library databases and websites of national and local organizations.

The second section is Federal Government Funding Sources. Included in this section are links to government agencies, publications, and websites that provide information about grant and loan programs.

The third section has links to a sampling of Crowdfunding and Fundraising websites.
